XDR2 preamps
Extended Dynamic Range=Extended Sonic Possibilities

XDR2 Among the features that have earned the VLZ3 mixers their stellar reputation are the XDR2 “Extended Dynamic Range” mic preamps. That’s because serious amounts of time and energy went into their design, and the result is phenomenal. You simply won’t find preamps this good on any other mixer in this price range. The XDR2 preamps deliver pure, clean studio-grade sound—the kind of quality you’d expect to find in pricey boutique mic pres. They have an incredibly wide frequency range, especially in the low end, and even at extremely high gain settings. They offer incredibly low noise, amazing RFI rejection, and with 60dB of available gain per channel, the 802-VLZ3 can handle inputs ranging from a whisper to a scream. With the superior sound of the 802-VLZ3’s three XDR2 preamps, rest assured you will always get optimum performance out of your professional ribbon, dynamic, and condenser mics. Read more.
Super-Musical EQ for Super Tweaking Latitude
EQ KnobsThe 802-VLZ3’s ultra-musical 3-band Active EQ provides precise control over the full frequency spectrum, giving you ultimate sound shaping latitude. We invested tremendous resources into optimizing the center frequencies of our EQs, and improved the interaction of the separate EQ bands, so your tracks can be molded and tweaked for just the right result. Low shelving at 80Hz, mid peaking at 2.5kHz and high shelving at 12kHz mean you can quickly and effectively sculpt your tone for the ultimate in punch, fullness, and brilliance—and with up to 15dB boost/cut capability per band, you get loads of room to move…and experiment. There’s also a 100Hz low cut/high pass switch for each mic input, so you can keep the muddiness out of your sound—and give lows that extra punch if used in conjunction with the Low EQ.
Fully pro, fully featured
A completely pro mini-desk, the 802-VLZ3 delivers a comprehensive set of mission-critical mixing tools. Five full channel strips let you easily get your hands on your mix, while bright 12-segment stereo meters allow for ultra-accurate metering. The dedicated Stereo Return channel lets you connect external components, such as effects units or mp3 players, so you can incorporate your favorite sounds or prerecorded material into your tracks. You also get Hi Z inputs on channels 1 and 2 for recording instruments such as electric guitar and basses direct—no external gear required—and phantom power is provided for your studio condenser mics. The PFL solo function lets you easily set your gain to perfect levels, and high pass filters allow you to cut low frequency rumble—100Hz and below—on channels 1 to 3. The 802-VLZ3 also gives you essential engineering features including separate control room volume and phones knobs. And thanks to our clever engineers, the “mute” button actually serves a dual purpose— signals from muted channels are secretly routed to the Alt 3-4 outputs and also into the Control Room section, ideal for creating submixes, previewing channels, or creating a “mix minus” for broadcast applications.

Ultra-compact, sleek, rugged chassis
802VLZ3 ProfileNow you can have your pro mixer, and fit it in your workspace, too. The 802-VLZ3 features a tight, low-profile design that fits the most modest—or congested—of areas perfectly. Like all VLZ3 mixers, the 802-VLZ3 is built like a tank, too. Our legendary solid-steel chassis can take the kind of abuse that would turn our competitors’ flimsy boxes into twisted chunks of debris. Instead of cheap, unsealed potentiometers, we use co-molded pots, which offer substantial strain and impact relief. By design, our control knobs ‘ride’ just above the surface of the chassis, so if something falls onto the mixer, the impact is transferred from the knobs to the chassis—not to the potentiometers or circuit board. Finally, we use thick, horizontally mounted fiberglass PC boards to eliminate the potential for damage and brace them with a shock-absorbing support structure. And not only is the 802-VLZ3 tough, but it can be flexibly positioned, thanks to a bottom panel that lets you easily mount an optional mic stand adapter with just a few screws. Attach your 802-VLZ3 to a mic stand, and you can adjust its height and angle to suit your unique—or weird—work style.
The “V” stands for Versatility
Okay, not really, but the 802-VLZ3 is just that—versatile. With its pro features and small footprint, it’s ideal for a variety of applications, including home and project studio recording, sound reinforcement, multimedia projects, field mixing, broadcast use, and post-production work. (Wanna see how you can put it all together? Check out our hookup guide.) And the included Tracktion 3 Basic Bundle music production software makes it that much easier to get right to work, and get inspired. Boot up T3, connect the VLZ3 to your computer’s sound card, and start recording straight away with a host of creativity-inducing loops, samples, and plug-ins.
Less Really Is More
The 802-VLZ3 gives new meaning to the old adage, less is more. While there are other under-12-channel mixers out in the world these days, none provide the performance or sound quality of the 802-VLZ3. Thanks to its ultra-compact, pro design, you get the low input count you want, the extra space you need, and the quality you deserve—all at an unbelievably low price. Put simply, the 802-VLZ3 is the go-anywhere, fit-anywhere professional mixer, delivering superior sound quality—and unbeatable value.

Power and Performance, at an Unbelievable Price

When you’re ready to make the switch to pro studio monitors, there are many things you need to consider. For instance, it’s up to you to create a mix that works on a variety of speakers—one that translates to boomboxes, home and car stereos, even headphones and portable music players. So you need monitors that deliver a neutral starting point, and sound that is clear across the frequency spectrum. You also want monitors with consistent performance, so whether you’re on axis or off, cranking ’em up or turning ’em down low, what you’re hearing is accurate. And you want all this at a reasonable price.
Mackie MR8 and MR5 Studio Monitors deliver truly professional quality and everything you need for critical monitoring—at a price that’s unbelievably affordable. Wide, even dispersion means a broad sweet spot, minimizing funny dips or peaks in frequency response when you move off axis. You get superior bass extension—tight and free from distortion—so your lows pack just the right amount of punch. And to ensure the best sound possible for your setup, the MR Series monitors feature acoustic controls so you can tune them to fit your room. With their Active bi-amplified architecture, wide dispersion, ultra-flat frequency response and outstanding bass performance, you get superior imaging with impeccable clarity, for a truly inspirational, non-fatiguing monitoring experience.
Our MR Series monitors achieve their transparent sound quality thanks to these key design elements:
BaffleMinimum-Diffraction Molded Baffle: When it comes to baffle design, shape matters; it plays a role in how sound waves travel. Our baffle is precisely molded to minimize diffraction, so sound waves radiate smoothly, and are dispersed optimally. Our precision waveguide is designed to ensure broad, even dispersion, and a smooth transition between highs and lows. The result is a crystal clear image of your mix, with an ultra-wide, even sweet spot. Whether you’re in mix position or not, on axis or off, you’ll always hear an accurate representation of your mix.
AmplifierAmplifier Design: Amplifiers are the power behind a monitor’s sound, but they can also color it. Unlike with passive monitors, our amplifiers are precisely matched to the monitor design. Featuring our proven Class A/B architecture, the MR Monitors’ amplifiers are meticulously tuned to deliver ultra-flat frequency response, so the sound remains neutral. To compensate for room characteristics, acoustic controls allow you to adjust High Frequency and Low Frequency settings (+/-2dB). Balanced inputs allow you to get the best signal possible, but the option of unbalanced inputs mean you can connect easily to any source. And MR Monitors deliver enough power to handle the toughest source material, at sound levels beyond sane people’s requirements.
Cabinet: A speaker’s cabinet is more than just an enclosure—it’s another component that affects the overall quality and character of the sound. Our cabinet features a rear port, carefully tuned to deliver superior bass performance with no audible vent noise.  Because air passes through the precisely engineered curved port easily, there is no distortion, and no build-up of pressure within the cabinet that could affect driver movement. The rigidity of the cabinet’s precision-braced MDF construction also prevents vibration, meaning your sound is always free from unwanted resonance.
WooferTransducers: Transducers are responsible for converting your electrical signal into sound, so consistent, unwavering performance is a must if you want sonic clarity. We specifically create our ultra-low distortion steel frame woofers and waveguide-loaded silk dome tweeters to work perfectly in concert with all the components in each MR monitor. You get a precisely tuned monitor that performs with impeccable consistency.
Applications
MR Series Monitors are ideal for a variety of applications. Use the MRs to empower your mixes in the studio, or to add pro sound to your multimedia, gaming or home theatre system. You can even use them for a great-sounding home DJ rig. The MR5 and MR8 Monitors share the same design, so they function great together, too, making them optimal for multiple monitor setups—just add a Big Knob —as well as surround systems.  For any applications where high quality sound and classic good looks are required, MR monitors are the perfect fit.
Our Reputation Speaks for Itself
We don’t mean to toot our own horn, but there’s a reason serious pros love Mackie gear. With every product we release into the wild—from monitors to loudspeakers to mixers—we up the ante on performance, reliability and affordability. Our innovation and commitment to great sound is why so many of our products are top sellers, and why our gear has legions of enthusiastic devotees.
Okay, that sounded a little like a toot. But the point is, we make great stuff and we’re proud. And we’re really proud of our MR Series. Sure, there are lots of other affordable so-called studio monitors out there, but they just don’t cut it when compared to our MR Series—and they aren’t backed by our years of experience. Thanks to our hardworking and knowledgeable audio experts, we’ve once again set a whole new standard. Simply put, our MR5 and MR8 Monitors sound and perform better than anything else in their class…. But with the Mackie name, what else would you expect? Go hear the difference for yourself at a dealer today.

Small mixer. Big performance.

Until now, mixers built for low-input, two-mic or one-mic-and-a-guitar applications really skimped on quality. With their flimsy construction and dismal sound, they resembled and performed like children’s toys. So we created the 402-VLZ3, the perfect ultra-compact mixer for applications that require few inputs, but demand full-on professional sound.
The 4-channel 402-VLZ3 delivers pure VLZ3 quality in our smallest form factor ever, making it ideal when your input counts are low, or when space is at a premium. In a sleek, small package, you get the signature VLZ3 high headroom, low noise design, complete with 2 XDR2 preamps, premium EQ, and modern mix bus architecture, for the best-sounding, mini-est pro mixer on the planet. And the price is mini, too—in fact, it’s our lowest price in recorded history for a VLZ3 mixer. At last, you no longer need to buy more mixer than you need just to get the quality you deserve.

Small Yet Powerfully Flexible
Though small in stature, the 402-VLZ3 provides an incredible abundance of professional features and mission-critical tools to enhance your mixing experience—and your creativity. In addition to essential features like phantom power for your condenser mics, you get a variety of user options that make the 402-VLZ3 a surprisingly versatile mixing machine. Two switchable Hi-Z instrument inputs allow you to plug instruments like electric guitar or bass in direct—no external gear required—or, disengage the switch to connect line level sources such as keyboards, or CD or mp3 players. Use the high pass filters on channels 1 and 2 to cut the rumble with the touch of a button. Connect line level stereo gear like DJ decks using the assignable stereo RCA input, and either route to your phones for queuing up, or to your main mix for overdubbing while monitoring back from your computer on phones. Flexibly monitor and record mono and stereo sources using the stereo pan function—when the switch is out, a mono source will be split between the left and right of the main mix equally, and when the switch is in, channels 1 and 2 are hard-panned left and right (perfect for recording stereo mics). Keep an eye on your levels with the bright 8-segment stereo meters, as well as the responsive overload LEDs that warn you when you’re overdoing it with the gain and/or EQ. No matter how you use it, the 402-VLZ3 supplies everything you need to get the job done.

High-Performance Audio Without the High Price Tag.

Designed by the same team that produced the best-selling Mackie SRM450v2, the Mackie Thump Series Powered Loudspeakers deliver deep low-end and real power in a lightweight design that is extremely portable. Class-D Fast Recovery™ amplification pushes unmatched power to the high-frequency compression driver and bass-pounding high-output woofer. Plus, Mackie Active processing, including a precision crossover and driver time-alignment provides total optimization for maximum system efficiency. Versatile by design, Thump loudspeakers feature a user-adjustable 3-band EQ for tone control and, since they can be pole-mounted or used as a wedge, the Thump Series loudspeakers represent the best value available for a complete stage solution.

More than Just a Powered Speaker Cabinet

Sure, Thump loudspeakers have a built-in power amp—in fact, each have two of them. Our Class-D Fast Recovery™ low-frequency amp drives the woofer more efficiently with less heat byproduct than other speakers. But so much more goes into a Mackie loudspeaker design than just amplifiers. Mackie Active technology (based on the popular SRMv2 Series) divides the frequencies via a precision 2-way crossover and also time aligns the signals so low-frequency and high-frequency signals arrive in sync to every member of your audience. Active compression provides a first line of defense for the drivers and thermal circuitry protects the amplifiers and power supply should things get too hot. All the onboard electronic systems work together dynamically to produce superior quality sound previously unavailable in this price range.

Portability Meets Versatility

For most people, portability is paramount. That’s why Thump loudspeakers are ultra-compact and lightweight, especially the TH-12A which is less than two feet tall and weighs in just over 25lbs. And regardless of application, there’s a right Thump for the job. Both deliver unmatched low end, that’s why they are Thumps. But, if you are a DJ and really need to bump, the TH-15A’s large woofer is the perfect choice. For vocal-only scenarios and applications with acoustic instruments that require superior midrange, the TH-12A shines.
Not only are Thump loudspeakers  superb PA enclosures, they also make a superior monitor wedge—just lay the cabinet on its side and turn it up. The compact, lightweight design means zero strain, whether mounting it on a high pole or loading up the van. Ultra-wide frequency response makes them ideal as a keyboard, vocal or even bass guitar monitor. Thump loudspeakers have incredibly smooth response and dispersion over a wide range of frequencies, so you can crank ‘em up and they still sound smooth and never harsh.
Exceptional Sonic Performance
EQ
Thump Series powered loudspeakers put out a tremendous amount of sound for their size and price tag. The 2-way ported design generates ample quantities of chest-pounding bass, and their 1" compression driver ensures smooth, wide dispersion. We even inserted a 3-band equalizer at the input to give you all the tonal control you could ever want, with an available 15dB boost or cut at 80Hz (low shelf), 100Hz to 8kHz (sweepable mids) and 12kHz (high shelf). With their extremely versatile EQ, you can add some extra thump to that kick drum, bring out the sizzle in your hi-hats, add pop to vocals or correct acoustic anomalies in the room.
